Blueprint Printing for Mesa, AZ: Printed Approved Plans for Your Inspections
Mesa plans print at $1.95 a sheet in black and white or $3.75 in color, at any size from 18×24 to 36×48; get your order in by 3 PM ET and it ships the same day, anywhere in the 50 states. Mesa’s permit work runs through DIMES, the City’s online system, and the printing comes at the end: once a residential permit is approved, the City tells you to print the approved plans from DIMES and keep that copy where the building inspector can see it at every inspection. That one printed set covers patio covers, casitas, pools and garage conversions as well as full homes.

Where we ship in Mesa
We ship to Mesa job sites from Downtown and Dobson Ranch to Red Mountain, Las Sendas, Eastmark and the Gateway area near the airport. We also ship to the East Valley around it, including Gilbert, Chandler, Apache Junction and Queen Creek. Each of those has its own building department, so the DIMES steps on this page only apply inside Mesa.
What City of Mesa Development Services asks for
Residential permits go in online through DIMES, the City’s permit system. Printing comes after approval: the City asks you to print the approved plans and keep them on site for the inspector. Quoted from Mesa’s Residential Construction steps and its Homeowners Guide:
| Rule | What the City says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Apply online | “Use the DIMES system to apply for a Residential Construction Permit.” | Residential Construction page, Step 4 |
| Drawn to scale | “Additions, remodels, casitas, patios, pools, garage and carport conversions require plans drawn to scale.” | Residential Construction Homeowners Guide (03-2025) |
| Review time | “You will receive written comments or approval within 10 working days. Working days are Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays.” | Residential Construction page, Step 5 |
| Revisions | “Resubmit revised plan documents for review.” | Same |
| Print approved plans | “Log into the DIMES portal and print a copy of your approved plans.” | Residential Construction page, Step 6 |
| On site | “Always have a printed copy of the approved plans available to the building inspector during inspections.” | Residential Construction page, Step 7 |
| Same rule in the guide | “Keep a printed copy of the approved plans onsite for the building inspector during inspections.” | Homeowners Guide, Construction Inspections |
So, for your order:
- Print the approved set, not your first upload. The City asks you to print the approved plans from DIMES. Download that approved PDF and upload it to us. If they come as several files, upload every file, or combine them into one PDF in the order you want them printed.
- Keep the scale. Mesa wants these plans drawn to scale, so print at the size the sheets were drawn. We print it exactly as uploaded.
- Order to the site. The printed copy has to be available to the inspector, so ship it to the job-site address if that’s where it will live.
- Corrections cycle: only the changed sheets. After review comments you resubmit revised plan documents. Once they’re approved, order just the revised sheets to swap into the site set; one sheet is fine.
Mesa wants plans drawn to scale, so check the PDF prints to scale. For changed sheets only, see printing revised sheets.
We print the approved PDF onto white 20 lb bond exactly as it comes out of DIMES. Mesa Development Services and your designer decide what has to be on site, so confirm it with them first.
