36×48 Blueprint Printing (ARCH E)
A 36×48 sheet is 1,728 square inches of paper, four times an 18×24, and it’s the largest size we print. It still costs $1.95 per sheet in black & white and $3.75 in color, the same as our smallest sheet. Site and civil plans, large commercial sheets and presentation boards are the usual reasons to go this big.
ARCH E, not ANSI E
36×48 is ARCH E in the architectural series. ANSI E, the engineering size, is 34×44. An ANSI E drawing has a 34×44 PDF page, so check the file in the PDF page size checker before you choose 36×48 at checkout. More on the two systems: ARCH vs ANSI sheet sizes.
Same price, all sizes (18×24 to 36×48)
Every size is one price per sheet, so a 36×48 set costs the same to print as the same number of 18×24 sheets:
- 10 sheets, black & white: 10 × $1.95 = $19.50
- 40-sheet set with 8 color sheets: 32 × $1.95 + 8 × $3.75 = $92.40
- Two copies of a 25-sheet black & white set: 50 × $1.95 = $97.50

Halving a 36×48 set
Printed at 50%, a 36×48 sheet lands exactly on 18×24, and the scale halves with it: 1/4″ = 1′-0″ becomes 1/8″ = 1′-0″. If you want smaller field copies of a 36×48 set, ask your designer for an 18×24 export so the sheets carry the right scale note. See 18×24 printing and the scale guide.

Yes. 36×46 is also $1.95 B&W or $3.75 color per sheet.
