What is a 30×42 sheet?
A 30×42 sheet is 30 by 42 inches. In the architectural series it’s called ARCH E1. It sits between 24×36 (ARCH D) and 36×48 (ARCH E), and it’s common for civil engineering, site and grading plans, utility drawings, and larger commercial sets where 24×36 feels cramped but 36×48 is more than you need.
Why 30×42 is usually where per-square-foot pricing hurts
Many print shops charge by the square foot, so a 30×42 sheet (8.75 sq ft) costs noticeably more than a 24×36 sheet (6 sq ft). We charge one flat price per sheet, so a 30×42 civil set costs the same per page as a small residential set.
