How permits work in North Jersey
New Jersey applies one statewide code, the Uniform Construction Code (N.J.A.C. 5:23), but permits are issued by each municipal construction office, run by a construction official with subcode officials for building, electrical, plumbing and fire. Every town sets its own submission format and copy count, and many now take electronic applications while contractors still need paper sets in the field. Check with the construction office in your town before you print; we print exactly what you upload.
