PDF Page Size Checker for Plan Printing

Before you order, make sure your PDF’s pages are the size you’re about to print. Pick a file and the checker reads the page sizes on your own device (nothing is uploaded) and tells you whether they match one of our sheet sizes.

Why page size matters

A drawing prints to scale only when the PDF page is the same size as the paper. If a 24×36 drawing was exported onto a letter-size page, or “fit to page” shrank it, the printer has to enlarge or reduce it and the scale bar stops being true. Catch it here and re-export, instead of finding out on the job site.

How to fix a wrong page size

  1. In AutoCAD, Revit or your layout software, set the sheet or paper size to the size you want printed (for example ARCH D 24×36).
  2. Export or plot to PDF at 100% (1:1), with “fit to page” and “shrink to fit” turned off.
  3. Run the new file through this checker again. Step-by-step help: exporting PDFs from AutoCAD and Revit and preparing a PDF plan set.

This is a quick check, not a full preflight. It reads the page box sizes; it doesn’t look at fonts, line weights or image quality. If anything looks off, email support@printmyplans.com.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check the page size of a PDF?

Use the checker on this page, or open the PDF in a viewer and look at Document Properties. For plan printing, the page size should match the sheet size, such as 24 x 36 inches.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The checker reads the file in your browser. Nothing leaves your device until you choose to order.

What if my PDF has mixed page sizes?

That’s fine. Add each size as its own line item at checkout.

What sizes do you print?

18×24, 24×36, 30×42, 36×46 and 36×48, all at $1.95 per sheet B&W and $3.75 per sheet color.

If we make a mistake, we reprint and ship it free of charge. Questions? Call (732) 701-7919 or email support@printmyplans.com.
