What drives the total for a plan set?
- Page count — A small residential permit set might be 15–30 sheets; a full construction or bid set can run much larger. Total print cost scales almost entirely with sheet count.
- Sheet size — 24×36 (ARCH D) is the most common U.S. architectural size for permit and field sets. At Print My Plans, size does not change the per-sheet price — 18×24 and 36×48 are the same $1.95 B&W / $3.75 color. See 24×36 blueprint printing.
- B&W vs color — Most working drawings print black-and-white. Cover sheets, renderings, marked-up revisions, and client presentation pages often need color. Mix by adding B&W and color as separate items, each with its own PDF. For presentation boards, see how to print color plans for presentations.
- Shipping / timing — Order by 3 PM ET, ships same day, arrives as soon as the next day. Cutoff matters if you need prints on site tomorrow. Transit time depends on destination and the shipping option shown at checkout.

Tips to keep blueprint printing costs down
- Export a clean, print-ready PDF (vector preferred; embed fonts; correct page size). Web checkout is PDF only.
- Use B&W for working drawings; reserve color for sheets that need it.
- Order only the sheets you need for this submission or job site — there’s no minimum, so you don’t have to pad the cart.
- When timing matters, order early in the day. Order by 3 PM ET, ships same day, arrives as soon as the next day.

- Final sheet size matches what you select at checkout (18×24, 24×36, 30×42, 36×46, or 36×48).
- One PDF per line item when mixing B&W and color.
- Fonts embedded; line weights readable at full size.
- No “fit to page” or “shrink to printable area” in the export.
- Correct scale (for example 1/4" = 1′-0" on ARCH D) — we print what you upload.
